2. Using Our Website

You may use this website for lawful personal and commercial shopping purposes.

You must not:

  • misuse, damage or interfere with the website;

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems;

  • copy or commercially exploit our website content without permission;

  • submit false, fraudulent or misleading information;

  • use the website in a way that breaches applicable law.

We may suspend or withdraw access to the website where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance or legal reasons.

3. Product Information

We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, prices and photographs are accurate.

However:

  • colours may vary slightly depending on your device or screen;

  • product images may not show the exact size or scale;

  • natural stones and pre-owned items may show individual variations;

  • weights and measurements described as estimated are approximate;

  • packaging may differ from that shown.

Please refer to the written product description and measurements before ordering.

Where a clear pricing, description or stock error occurs, we may contact you to correct the order or cancel it and issue a full refund.

4. Jewellery Condition and Pre-Owned Products

Where an item is pre-owned, its condition will be described on the relevant product page.

Pre-owned jewellery and watches may show reasonable signs of previous wear. Any material marks, alterations or known imperfections will be described where reasonably possible.

Customers should review the full description and photographs before ordering.

5. Availability

All orders are subject to availability.

Adding an item to your basket does not reserve it. Occasionally, an item may sell in our showroom or through another sales channel before our online stock records update.

If an item becomes unavailable after you order, we will contact you and issue a full refund for the unavailable item.

6. Placing an Order

To place an order, follow the checkout process and provide complete and accurate information.

You will have an opportunity to review your order before submitting payment.

After placing an order, you should receive an acknowledgement email. This acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.

A binding contract is formed when we send confirmation that the order has been accepted or dispatched.

We may decline or cancel an order where:

  • payment is declined or cannot be authorised;

  • an item is unavailable;

  • information supplied appears incomplete or fraudulent;

  • there is an obvious pricing or product error;

  • we are unable to deliver to the address supplied;

  • the order breaches these Terms and Conditions.

If payment has already been taken for a cancelled order, we will refund it.

7. Prices and Payment

Prices are displayed in pounds sterling.

Prices include VAT where applicable, but delivery charges may be added separately and displayed before you complete checkout.

We accept the payment methods shown at checkout.

Cash payments may be arranged for eligible showroom collection orders. Please contact us on WhatsApp at 07880 989973 before placing the order to arrange this.

You must have permission to use the payment method submitted.

We are not responsible for fees charged independently by your card provider, bank or finance provider.

8. Klarna and Third-Party Payment Services

Where third-party payment services such as Klarna are available, their separate terms, eligibility requirements and privacy practices will apply.

Approval is controlled by the payment provider, not SC Golden.

We do not guarantee that a customer will be accepted for credit or deferred payment services.

9. Order Processing and Delivery

Please allow up to 24 hours for your order to be processed.

Once dispatched, orders are normally sent via Royal Mail using an insured delivery service. Delivery usually takes approximately 1-2 working days from dispatch.

You will receive a shipping confirmation email containing tracking details when your order has been dispatched.

Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by:

  • bank holidays;

  • adverse weather;

  • postal disruption;

  • incorrect address information;

  • security or payment checks;

  • circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Unless otherwise agreed, goods purchased online should ordinarily be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days.

10. Delivery Addresses

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

Please check your address carefully before submitting the order.

Contact us immediately if you notice an error. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed once the order has been processed or dispatched.

We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the customer.

11. Risk and Ownership

Risk in the goods passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or to a person identified by you to receive them.

Ownership passes once we have received payment in full and the goods have been delivered.

12. Click and Collect

Free click and collect is available from our showroom at:

SC Golden Ltd
133A High Street
Yarm
TS15 9BB

We will contact you when your order is ready. Please wait until you receive confirmation before travelling to the showroom.

You may be asked to provide your order confirmation and proof of identification when collecting your order.

Where another person is collecting on your behalf, please notify us beforehand. We may request identification from that person.

Orders must be collected within 7 days unless another arrangement has been agreed.

13. Online Cancellation Rights

For most goods bought online, you may notify us that you wish to cancel within 14 days beginning on the day after you receive the goods.

Once you notify us, you normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.

To request a return, contact us at:

Email: contact@scgolden.co.uk
WhatsApp: 07880 705873

Please include your order number and the item you wish to return.

The statutory online cancellation rules require certain information to be given before purchase and generally provide a 14-day cancellation period, subject to specific exceptions.

14. Return Condition

Returned items must be:

  • unworn and unused;

  • in their original condition;

  • returned with all original tags attached;

  • returned with their original packaging;

  • accompanied by any certificates, documentation, boxes or accessories supplied.

You may inspect an item to the same extent that you reasonably could in a shop. We may reduce a refund where the value of an item has been diminished by unnecessary handling.

Please do not return an item until you have contacted us and received return instructions.

15. Earrings and Pierced Jewellery

For hygiene reasons, earrings and other pierced jewellery cannot be returned or exchanged for a change of mind where the hygiene seal or protective packaging has been opened, removed or broken.

This exclusion does not apply where the item is faulty, damaged or not as described.

The hygiene exception under the Consumer Contracts Regulations applies to sealed goods that are not suitable for return for genuine health-protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed.

16. Personalised, Altered and Made-to-Order Items

Unless faulty, damaged or not as described, we may be unable to accept change-of-mind returns for:

  • engraved items;

  • personalised jewellery;

  • bespoke or made-to-order pieces;

  • rings or jewellery resized specifically for you;

  • items specially altered at your request;

  • custom stone, metal or design selections.

Please check all spelling, measurements, sizes and customisation instructions carefully before confirming an order.

17. Return Postage

Unless the product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, you are responsible for the cost of returning it.

We strongly recommend using a tracked and adequately insured service.

You remain responsible for the returned item until it reaches us.

Where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, contact us before returning them so we can provide suitable instructions.

18. Refunds

Eligible refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

For a valid online cancellation, we will refund the price paid and the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered at checkout. Extra delivery costs selected by you, such as premium or enhanced delivery, may not be refundable beyond the standard amount.

We may withhold the refund until we receive the goods back or you provide evidence that they have been returned, whichever occurs first.

Refunds will normally be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or acceptable proof of return.

Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to display the refund.

19. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods

Please inspect your order promptly after delivery.

Contact us as soon as possible if an item:

  • arrives damaged;

  • is faulty;

  • is not as described;

  • differs from the item ordered;

  • is missing from the parcel.

Please provide your order number and clear photographs of the item and packaging where possible.

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and customers may have remedies including refund, repair or replacement depending on the circumstances.

20. In-Store Purchases

Change-of-mind cancellation rights applicable to online purchases do not automatically apply to items bought in our physical showroom.

Any voluntary in-store exchange or return policy will be explained at the time of purchase or shown on your receipt.

Your statutory rights regarding faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods remain unaffected.

21. Ring Sizes and Resizing

It is your responsibility to select the correct ring size.

Sizing can vary slightly depending on the ring’s width, style and construction.

You may visit our Yarm showroom to have your ring size measured before purchasing.

Where resizing is available, it may:

  • incur an additional charge;

  • affect dispatch times;

  • make the item personalised or altered and therefore ineligible for a change-of-mind return.

Not all ring designs can be resized.

22. Custom and Bespoke Jewellery

Quotes for custom jewellery are valid for the period stated in the quotation.

We may require a deposit before beginning design, sourcing or manufacturing work.

Deposits for bespoke work may be non-refundable once work has started or materials have been ordered, except where required by law.

Estimated completion dates are not guaranteed and may change due to material availability, workshop times or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Any substantial change requested after approval may result in additional charges.

23. Repairs, Cleaning and Alterations

Any repair, cleaning, resizing or alteration service will be assessed individually.

We will explain available work, estimated costs and estimated timescales before proceeding.

Older, delicate, hollow, previously repaired or stone-set jewellery may carry additional risks during repair or cleaning. Where relevant, these will be discussed before work begins.

We are not responsible for undisclosed weaknesses, previous repairs or treatments that could not reasonably have been identified before work started, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

24. Promotions and Discount Codes

Promotional offers and discount codes:

  • are subject to availability;

  • may have expiry dates;

  • cannot usually be combined unless stated;

  • may exclude certain brands, products or services;

  • have no cash value;

  • may be withdrawn or amended where reasonably necessary.

Discounts must be applied before checkout and cannot normally be added retrospectively.

25. Website Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account details and password confidential.

You must notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

We may close or suspend an account where it has been used fraudulently, unlawfully or in breach of these Terms.

26. Intellectual Property

All website content, including photographs, logos, product descriptions, graphics, videos, designs and text, belongs to SC Golden or is used with permission.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or commercially use that content without written permission.

27. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, payment providers or social media services.

We are not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices.

Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms.

28. Privacy and Cookies

We process personal information in accordance with our separate Privacy Policy.

Our Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used.

The ICO advises businesses to provide privacy information in a clear and easily accessible form explaining how personal data is collected and used.

29. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence;

  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;

  • breach of your statutory consumer rights;

  • any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to this, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.

We are not responsible for business losses suffered by consumers, including loss of profits, revenue, opportunities or business interruption.

30. Events Outside Our Control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:

  • postal or courier disruption;

  • severe weather;

  • fire or flood;

  • strikes;

  • internet or system failure;

  • government restrictions;

  • supplier or manufacturing delays.

We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and contact you where your order is materially affected.

The version applying to your order will be the version displayed when the order was placed.

Any updated version will show a revised “Last updated” date.

33. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory legal protections in the part of the United Kingdom where you live.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, although consumers living elsewhere in the UK may be entitled to bring proceedings in their local courts.
